There is a human in Port Elizabeth (SAfrica) whose spine was twisted back to front when he was a child. I met him when he was in his late 30s. Its not a natural phenomenon but could you use that?

What about people who have remnant tails?

Try Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome. It is a syndrome in which extra tarsal bones are found. See this abstract:

http://www.springerlink.com/content/36jhhbe3ehdax7ga/

You could also use Apert syndrome, which can be diagnosed through fetal ultrasound...see link:

http://www.thefetus.net/page.php?id=2095
Hope this helps!

1. Stop typing in All-Caps. It's considerd shouting and rude.
2. Are you positive that it's asbestos and not calcium silicate (they look alomst identical, and without lab tests, it's hard for the untrained eye to tell the difference.
3. Is it encapsulated? (See the otehr poster's response.)
4. Your landlord is supposed to inform you if there's asbestos present. If he didn't consult a lawyer.
5. Don't get your panties in a knot. Unless the asbestos is turning to dust and is airborn (i.e., so you can inhale it) you're not in any danger.

There is asbestos in buildings all over the US and the world. Doesn't mean that you are in any immediate danger at all. Doesn't meant that your landlord has done anything wrong.

Asbestos can be dangerous when it is being removed and particles are in the air. If the asbestos is exposed or needs replacing, speak to your landlord about how to make the repairs safely.

I suggest moving.
Considering you are continuing to rent this home despite the fact that you are aware of the threat asbestos poses to your health and the health of your children - your actions suggest you don't find the threat serious enough to take action- why should anyone else.

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer affecting the cells of mesothelial lining in the chest and abdomen. Mesothelioma is rare, though it appears to be on the rise. Approximately 2,000 to 3,000 new cases of mesothelioma are diagnosed each year in the United States alone. Symptoms for both types of mesothelioma are not specific only to this disease, and often go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for a significant amount of time. Difficulty breathing, abdominal and chest pain, and fever can all be attributed to other causes, so this cancer has time to advance fair before diagnosis usually occurs. Due to the difficulty in diagnosis of mesothelioma, survival time after diagnosis is estimated at about a year.
